Holistic & Connected Community Programs

The Village Youth R.O.A.D.E.

The Youth R.O.A.D.E. is a youth engagement program built on KLC (Kindness, Love and Compassion). Bereaved children and youth will plan and schedule monthly activities for fellow bereaved peers. These activities may include: recreation, art, celebrations, board games etc. The purpose of this program is to provide a safe space for bereaved children to be a part of a village who understand and honour each other's unique grief.

This program, the Village ROADE is named after its founding members Rhys, Owen L. and Owen N., Ally, Davis and Ethan. The KLC values are also named from founding members Kyla, Lana, and Chelsea. These trailblazers have all experienced the death of loved ones and through these losses have come together to support their peers and shift current views of grief and loss.

Through the generous donations of friends, family and the community, J.A.G. Village, is pleased to share that this program is subsidized, and will be provided at little to no cost to the participants.

Special Activities/Events

We believe in the value of collective healing. Being with other bereaved children, individuals, and families who “get it” is healing in itself. Special days & holidays are often experienced differently after the loss of someone we love. J.A.G. Village hosts different activities and events based around recreation and/or other creative activities that allow individuals & families to have fun while both honouring their loved ones and coexisting with grief and/or painful feelings. Please stay tuned for upcoming events.

Circles

Grief can leave us leaving feeling very vulnerable and alone. The healing energy of our grief circles can nurture, nourish, and companion you through the wilderness of grief. Circles provide the opportunity for like-minded people to connect with greater passion, purpose, and play, while learning how to both walk and honour your own unique grief and healing path.

Reiki

We experience grief mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. There is not one part of our lives that deep grief does not touch. Reiki is an ancient Japanese Technique. "Rei" means universal and "ki" means life energy, so together Reiki translates to "Universal Life Energy". Emerging in the late 1800s Reiki is commonly referred to as a palm healing or hands-on-healing. The practitioner uses their palm energy points to channel qi energy, Universal Life Energy directly to the recipient through light touch or by just hovering over the recipients’ body. This form of healing is non-invasive and can be safely performed on all ages. It does not require you to believe in the process, for the body senses the energy and can heal itself as it needs.
